Welcome to a new home for story and connection!

We are Jessica and Vanessa, two book-loving friends who began meeting at a picnic table in Breezewald Park during the pandemic of 2020 to talk about books and writing.

Our meetups turned into dream-weaving sessions about how to share stories, creativity and community.

Commonplace is the result of all that dreaming. We can’t wait to share it with you!

Why “Commonplace?”

Commonplace is an old word that originally referred to an entry in a commonplace book, a personal, handwritten collection of useful or meaningful observations, sketches and quotations.

Commonplace books or journals still function as knowledge gathering systems for thoughtful people — as tools to remember, reflect and make meaning.

We are creating a place that nurtures that same spirit of discovery, a place where people can connect with others through interests they share – a commonplace.

We plan to open in late summer 2026 - follow us on socials below or click here to subscribe and get the scoop!
